Just Back from Amsterdam…With Gifts for YOU!
I arrived home from a quick trip to the Netherlands and Belgium late on Wednesday. Yes, I’ve been stuffing myself with Dutch stroopwaffeln and Belgian chocolates for the last week or so. I also brought stroopwafeln and chocolates home with me! Dangerous!

My trip started off inauspiciously though! For the first time since around 2008, my luggage didn’t make the trip! I’ve had a good run so I really could not complain. Two big takeaways from this experience:
1. Buy AirTags. United didn’t know where my luggage was, but thanks to Apple, I knew that my luggage was still sitting on the tarmac in Newark. United even has a special email address you can send AirTag screenshots to! Buy your Amazon AirTags here.
2. Buy travel insurance. I’m going to be honest with you — one of the toughest parts of my job is convincing people that they should buy travel insurance. Here’s the thing — when things go wrong, the first person a client will call is usually ME. But there’s a limit to what I can do if you haven’t purchased travel insurance. Luckily, I have an annual policy with Travel Insured, one of my preferred providers. And my luggage was covered under their baggage delay policy, which allowed me to spend up to $750 buying everything I needed. Have an upcoming trip? Thankfully, my luggage arrived in Amsterdam about 36 hours later. Crisis averted! (Mostly.)
