Japan: Cherry Blossoms, Onsens, & Mount Fuji

This week, I’ve had not one but two requests for the Land of the Rising Sun. Both families hope to travel in April of this year, prime cherry blossom season.

If I can provide advice to anyone reading this right now, if you want to see the cherry blossoms in Japan, please try to plan far in advance. To quote from one of my partners…

There are no more guides and virtually no more cultural experiences left to book for cherry blossom this year. If those components are what clients are dreaming about, it’s best for them to start planning for 2025.

He then went on to explain…

Post-pandemic, Japan jumped a whole star level in cost seemingly overnight. Two star levels suddenly pricing at the 5* level. So, folks that generally travel 5* are seeing package prices 2~3x what they’d expect and you can’t bridge that value gap. Below 5* is much more doable, especially for peak seasons, but it’s just absolutely essential that clients understand what they are getting and honestly want it still for the price they’re paying.

I’ve contacted all of my partners this week and no one is taking Japan trips this year until mid-May. Which, actually, is kinda logical. At the very least, try to plan your trips 3 months in advance. That’s when my partners and I can be most helpful.
